Within project courses small groups of students work on complex tasks during one semester. Although they are supervised by a teacher the main part is done by self study. The main objective is to acquire specific basic knowledge and planning answers to particular questions. Because interdisciplinary perspectives are necessary, the projects also take place in close cooperation with subject areas of other departments within the "Fachgruppe Landschaft" or even with external fields of teaching.
In the new Bachelor- and Master courses too, the realization of study projects represent the core element of teaching. Intensive and broad experiences exist since the introduction of this teaching- and learning method in 1971. It shows that this approach highly supports independence as well as teamworking skills and that it provides an excellent preparation for professional activities with a wide variety of requirements. The following list of project works gives an impression of the thematic breadth.
