Environmental Behavior and Planning

Welcome

We are an interdisciplinary and international team dedicated to understanding human decision-making in relation to territorial development and land use. By integrating behavioural science, economics, planning, and environmental research, we generate evidence-based knowledge that supports the creation and protection of resilient living environments for nature and people.

We investigate the behavioural drivers behind sustainability-aligned and misaligned choices. Our work combines rigorous quantitative and experimental approaches to uncover causal relationships with qualitative analysis sensitive to social, cultural, and institutional contexts.

We translate these behavioural insights into actionable strategies for governance, policy, and planning — fostering cooperation and sustainable development across urban, agricultural, and forested landscapes.
