Selected results of the discourse on the future

New impulses for sustainable regional development can be gained from identification with one's own region. Experts from science and planning practice as well as regional actors discussed in the future discourse "Spatial Identities" how such regional identities can be used for a future-oriented development of regions.

The result was a number of products that we would like to present here.

Brochure "Making regions fit for the future: Identification as a building block for sustainable development".

Target group: Planning practitioners; active people from regions, districts and municipalities who deal with regional development, sustainability and change processes as well as other interested parties from science and practice.

Content: Regional development processes can benefit from dealing with regional identities and considering emotional spatial relations. The focus is on regionally active people and citizens with their personal connections to their home region. They have a good knowledge of their own region, are rooted there and want to take responsibility for its future development. Through regional identity discourses, identification features can be made visible and used as a resource for future-oriented regional development. The "Future Discourse" shows concrete ways of implementation, gives tips on formats and tools and describes examples from different regions in Germany.  Downlod as PDF
