Vegetation Management

and Planning-related Plant Ecology

Topics, research questions and study content

Vegetation management focuses on the effects of anthropogenic changes. How do plants and their communities adapt to urban conditions and their dynamics? What consequences do anthropogenic flora and site changes have for nature conservation and landscape management, for their guiding principles, assessment criteria and instruments? Synergisms and conflicts between nature conservation and forestry are other topics. Considering maintenance costs, special attention is paid to how systems' (natural) dynamics can be incorporated into nature conservation strategies and practical nature conservation work.
