German-French Planning Seminar 2002


Spatial and environmental planning, cross-border planning in the Middle Upper Rhine region

From 15 to 21 September 2002, the Institute for Regional Planning and Spatial Research and the C.E.S.A. of the University of Tours organized the annual German-French Planners' Seminar. This year, the seminar and excursion led to the region of the Middle Upper Rhine as well as adjacent parts of the European PAMINA region (Palatinate - Middle Upper Rhine, North Alsace). Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Dr. Hans Günter Barth and Dr. Frank Scholles as well as Prof. Bernard Leroi and Prof. Dr. Eric Thomas, 44 students from the two universities learned about regional planning, urban planning, regional transport policy, conversion, cross-border planning, environmental information systems, viticulture and tourism.
