German-French Planners Seminar 1997

Regional development, tourism and nature conservation in Auvergne

From 14 to 20 September 1997, the Institute for Regional Planning and Spatial Research together with the C.E.S.A. of the University of Tours held the well-established annual German-French planners' seminar. This year the seminar and excursion led to the Auvergne. Under the direction of Prof.Dr.Dr. H.G. Barth, Dr. Frank Scholles as well as Prof. Bernard Le Roi, 44 students of both universities informed themselves about regional planning in the Auvergne, planning in the Département Puy-de-Dôme and in different communal and special purpose associations, the work of the nature park Volcans d'Auvergne, construction and financing of the freeway 75 and accompanying measures for landscape and development as well as measures for tourism promotion.
