Since 15 June 2026, Mimmi Becker has been working as a PhD student on the agri:change project at the Institute for Environmental Planning in teh working group Landscape Planning and Ecosystem Services.
Her research focuses on landscape planning and digital environmental planning using geodata. The focus is on the development of sustainable landscapes and cities, in particular through green and blue infrastructure as nature-based solutions. Other topics include changes in agricultural structures with regard to water in agriculture, irrigation and support schemes, as well as the use of planning tools such as environmental impact assessments and agri-environment-climate measures.
As part of her doctoral research within the agri:change project, Mimmi Becker is engaged in spatial analyses, the use of geodata and the development of scenarios to design sustainable agricultural landscapes through planning. She is particularly committed to the active participation of diverse stakeholders.
Mimmi holds a Master’s degree in Environmental and Regional Planning, specialising in nature conservation and landscape planning, from Leibniz University Hannover. She broadened her international perspectives through, amongst other things, a semester abroad at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Ås and research and fieldwork experiences in the Amazon Basin.
