On October 28, 2025, Dr. Amanda Grobe and Dr. Lotta Zoch organized a workshop entitled 'Structural diversity in peatland restoration' as part of the 'Insekten beleben Moore' (Insects revitalize peatlands) research project. The event included specialist presentations and an excursion to the project areas in the 'Totes Moor' nature reserve near Neustadt am Rübenberge.
Around 35 peatland restoration experts engaged in intensive discussions about the effects of structural diversity on bog-typical diversity, previous shortcomings in rewetting and restoration, and their impact on maintenance. They also discussed possible solutions.

The project is funded by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation as part of the Federal Biological Diversity Programme, receiving funding from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
