Summary:

Biotope types and Natura 2000 habitat types worthy of protection, animal and plant species of the Habitats and Birds Directives as well as the protected areas of the Natura 2000 network of the Hannover-Braunschweig-Göttingen Metropolitan Region were analyzed with regard to their sensitivity to the effects of climate change and possible impairments were estimated.

On this basis, proposed measures and future nature conservation goals were developed to mitigate the consequences of climate change for biodiversity and species, biotope and site protection in the metropolitan region.
